Cutting Edge Technology

Experience orthodontics in a whole new light with our commitment to cutting-edge technology.

Experience the precision of braces placement with our innovative Indirect Bonding System, powered by DIBS AI. First, we use a state-of-the-art computer program to digitally place the braces on a 3D digital model of your teeth. A custom 3D printed stent is then fabricated and used to place the braces onto your teeth. This results in greater accuracy for shorter and more efficient treatment. With traditional techniques, braces are placed on each tooth one at a time and their position is estimated by eye alone, leaving a greater margin for error and making the installation process more time consuming.

Say goodbye to messy gooey impressions with our iTero Lumina intraoral scanner, the latest advancement in intraoral scanning technology. This high-tech camera quickly and accurately creates a 3D digital model of your teeth, allowing you to visualize your diagnosis and treatment plan. You can even see before-and-after treatment simulations at your consultation visit. With a smaller camera size and faster scanning speeds, our scanner is quick, comfortable, and enhances the overall orthodontic experience.

These advanced braces utilize a special clip to hold the orthodontic wire in place. This allows for smaller bracket size, enhanced cleanliness, and less friction, resulting in quicker alignment of teeth with optimized patient comfort as compared to traditional braces. Best of all, self-ligating braces are available for both metal and clear braces!

3D printed appliances are custom made to your teeth, resulting in a more accurate and comfortable fit. This also eliminates the need for uncomfortable spacers, separators, or bands to be placed between the teeth, unlike with traditional non-3D printed appliances.

Our in-house 3D printer is a game-changer, crafting customized appliances and retainers in our office with unparalleled precision. This means quicker turnaround times for our patients, since certain models, appliances, and retainers can be fabricated within hours on-site instead of outsourcing to outside labs.

Prioritizing your safety, our advanced digital X-ray system minimizes radiation exposure while delivering detailed images. This technology enables us to make well-informed decisions about your orthodontic care with minimal radiation.

Your health and safety matter to us. We only use high quality, cutting-edge sterilization equipment, which is monitored regularly. We meet or exceed all guidelines for infection control.

Timing It Right

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends making the first orthodontist visit at age 7. Although most children will not require treatment until around ages 11-12 (once most or all of their permanent teeth have come in), an evaluation at this young age allows us to identify and address potential dental or jaw development issues before they develop into more complex problems. These can include excessive crowding causing damage to teeth, narrow dental arches, crossbites, impacted teeth, and severe jaw imbalances. At Park Ridge Orthodontics, we are here to monitor your child’s tooth and jaw development until the time is just right to begin treatment.

Early Interceptive Treatment

Phase 1 orthodontics, also called early interceptive treatment, is a limited course of treatment performed while a child still has a mix of baby and permanent teeth, generally between ages 7 and 10. It addresses problems that become more difficult to correct later, including severe crowding, crossbites, protruding front teeth at risk of injury, and jaw growth discrepancies. The American Association of Orthodontists recommends a first orthodontic evaluation by age 7. Most children evaluated at that age do not require immediate treatment and are monitored until the appropriate time.

With gentle care and expertise, we make this early phase of orthodontic care a positive, engaging experience for your child, easing any anxieties and making visits something they can look forward to.

Braces

Braces are a cornerstone of orthodontic treatment, offering a solution for correcting various dental misalignments and bite issues. At Park Ridge Orthodontics, we provide expertly tailored braces treatments for patients of all ages.

Braces are a fixed orthodontic appliance consisting of brackets bonded to each tooth and connected by an archwire that applies continuous gentle pressure to move teeth into planned positions. They are available in stainless steel and in clear ceramic, which blends with natural tooth color. Treatment generally lasts 6 to 24 months. Park Ridge Orthodontics uses an indirect bonding system in which bracket positions are planned digitally on a 3D model and transferred with a custom 3D-printed guide, improving placement accuracy compared with placing brackets individually by eye.

For those seeking a more discreet orthodontic solution, our clear or ceramic braces are an excellent choice. They offer the same effectiveness as traditional metal braces, but with a more subtle appearance. The brackets blend in with the natural color of your teeth, making them less noticeable.

Invisalign®

Discover the modern way to straighten teeth with Invisalign®.

Invisalign is an orthodontic treatment that straightens teeth using a series of clear, removable plastic aligners rather than fixed brackets and wires. Each aligner is worn 20 to 22 hours per day for roughly one to two weeks before advancing to the next in the series, and each moves the teeth a small, planned increment. Treatment typically takes 12 to 24 months depending on complexity. At Park Ridge Orthodontics in Park Ridge, NJ, the aligner series is planned from a 3D digital scan taken with our iTero Lumina scanner.

Invisalign Teen is designed specifically for the unique needs of teenagers and adolescents. Perfect for kids involved in sports or music, this option offers comfort without interfering with activities.

Invisalign First introduces younger patients to orthodontics with a gentle approach. These aligners are specially designed for children’s growing mouths, addressing issues early on. Invisalign First helps guide the development of young jaws and teeth, setting the foundation for a healthier smile.

Retainers

A retainer is an orthodontic appliance worn after active treatment to hold teeth in their corrected positions. Retainers are either removable, such as clear thermoplastic or wire-and-acrylic Hawley designs, or fixed, meaning a thin wire bonded permanently behind the front teeth. Because teeth have a natural lifelong tendency to shift, retainer wear is generally recommended indefinitely on a nighttime schedule rather than for a fixed period. Park Ridge Orthodontics fabricates retainers on site using an in-house 3D printer.

Our commitment extends beyond aligning your teeth; we guide you in preserving your smile’s beauty with the right retainer choice to meet your individual needs.

Corrective Jaw Surgery

Corrective jaw surgery addresses complex jaw misalignments beyond the scope of braces alone. This surgery is ideal for severe bite discrepancies and structural issues, improving oral function and facial aesthetics.

Our approach involves a thorough evaluation and personalized treatment plan. We collaborate with skilled oral surgeons to address severe jaw misalignments, overbites, underbites, and facial asymmetry. This combined effort ensures optimal results, harmonizing orthodontic treatment with surgical expertise for a balanced, functional, and beautiful outcome.
